Reading Goals For This Year

I’ve decided to increase my reading to help me with my writing. I’m going to attempt a book a week. Here are some of the books and series that I have in mind:

  1. It by Stephen King
  2. Pet Sematary by Stephen King
  3. All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
  4. Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
  5. American Gods series by Neil Gaiman
  6. The Way Of Kings series by Brandon Sanderson
  7. His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman
  8. The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher

That should be enough to occupy me for a good bit. In the meantime I’m building a very long list.

Resolutions

This Christmas season has been great. Last week was mostly about exchanging presents and spending time with family. This week looks to be mostly about resting up.

During this time I’ve been thinking about what I’m going to do next year, and I’ve decided I’m going to go for writing a book again. Last time I tried writing under a pen name, so I’m not sure if I’m going to try that again or not. It seems like a lot of effort. This will be the big dream this year. I’ve been looking to write one for years and if I don’t do it now I don’t know if I ever will.

Yes, I still want to get Network+ certified. Yes, I still want to lose weight. Yes, I still want to fix my back. All of these are goals.

So basically I’ve just got to keep persevering in 2020. Not too hard, right?

Everyone Needs Something To Look Forward To

So after last week I’m in a better mood. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I can’t do everything at once. It’s really just about sitting down and doing the math with how long you want to spend studying/practicing things day-to-day. I did that once upon a time, but I realize now that I need to make more room for relaxation. I need to have something to look forward to day-to-day.

All work and no play just puts you in a bad place.

Operation Boring

Yesterday was the first day of “Operation Boring”. That’s the name I’ve given to my decision to get off of Netflix and Hulu for a week. I can’t even guarantee it will last longer than yesterday, but I’m giving it my best effort.

The only reason I’m doing this is I’m tired of the constant mishmash of images that the system is sending to my brain. It’s time for a break. There’s other ways to stay entertained.

Diet Update 10/26/2019

I wanted to provide an update to my diet plan. Like last time I haven’t followed this as religiously as I should but I’m working on it.

Day 1:

-3 Servings Almond Milk
-2 Bananas
-1 Orange
-1 Cajun Turkey Sandwich
-2 Cups Broccoli
-Black Beans
-1 Bowl Multigrain Cheerios
-1 Cashew Sandwich On Whole Wheat Bread
-2 Cups Spinach
-Grilled Chicken

Day 2:

-3 Servings Almond Milk
-2 Bananas
-1 Orange
-Roast Beef Sandwich
-2 Cups Broccoli
-Black Beans
-2 Bowls Kellog’s Corn Flakes
-2 Potatoes
-Oatmeal
-3 Brazil Nuts
-1/2 Cup Peanuts
-1/2 Cup Pecans
-2 Cups Kale
-2 Adult Carrots
-Grilled Chicken

Wednesdays And Saturdays:

-Salmon

If I’m still hungry after all this every day I eat additional sandwiches with grilled chicken, deli meat, and nuts. All nuts are unsalted. Also, you’ll notice eggs are not eaten daily anymore.

As I continue to gauge my body over time this diet is going to continue to change. I just wanted to share it’s most recent iteration. Again, I’m not a doctor and talk to one before following some dude’s advice on the internet.
